The Task Force Restricts The Entrance Of Foreign Travelers To Only These 6 Locations, One Of Them Is At Soekarno-Hatta Airport

JAKARTA - Head of the Task Force for Handling COVID-19 Ganip Warsito has limited access for travelers from abroad to only six locations. This is stated in the Decree of the Chairperson of the COVID-19 Task Force Number 12 of 2021.

"Based on the consideration of following up on the development of the COVID-19 handling situation, it is necessary to stipulate a Decree of the Chairperson of the COVID-19 Handling Task Force regarding entry points, quarantine places, and RT-PCR obligations for Indonesian citizens who travel," Ganip wrote in the Decree, quoted Friday, September 17th.

In its stipulation, the entrances for Indonesian citizens who travel internationally are at Soekarno Hatta Airport, Banten and Samratulangi Airport, North Sulawesi for air travel.

Then, Batam Port, Riau Islands and Nunukan Port, North Kalimantan for sea trips. Then, cross-border posts in Aruk, West Kalimantan and Entikong, West Kalimantan for land routes.

In addition, Indonesian citizens from abroad are also required to quarantine with two schemes. "First, quarantine with a period of 8 x 24 hours from countries with low positive case escalations. Second, quarantine with a period of 14 x 24 hours from countries with high positive case escalations," wrote Ganip.

The quarantine is at Wisma Atlet Pademangan, for Indonesian citizens who enter through the Soekarno Hatta-Banten airport entry point whose services include lodging, transportation, meals, and RT-PCR costs.

The centralized quarantine place for Indonesian citizens who travel internationally is only intended for Indonesian migrant workers (PMI), students, and government employees after serving.

"In the event that government employees are not willing to quarantine at a location that has been determined by the COVID-19 Task Force, quarantine must be carried out at a centralized quarantine hotel that has been determined at independent costs or other legal sources of financing," he explained.
