BANDA ACEH - The body of a man with the identity of a journalist was found floating in the river in the Deah Glumpang Village area, Meuraxa District, Banda Aceh City.

"According to the ID card, the job is a journalist," said Head of Criminal Investigation at the Banda Aceh Police, AKP M Ryan Citra Yudha, quoted by Antara, Thursday, September 16.

The body was first discovered by local residents at around 07.00 WIB, in a floating position and carried by the flow of water caught in a fishing boat that was leaning on the local dock.

Based on the ID card found, the man's body was named Zoni Jamil (41) from Kayee Jatoe Village, Glumpang Tiga District, Pidie Regency.

Ryan said the team from the police had gone to the TKP (the crime scene) for the identification process, and the victim had been taken to the Zainoel Abidin General Hospital (RSUZA) Banda Aceh for a post-mortem.

"The identification team has been there for the identification process, the victim has been evacuated to the RSU for a post-mortem," he said.

It is not yet known what caused the victim's death, as further investigations are still underway.

"It's still under investigation for the time being," Ryan said.

Meanwhile, the police have secured several items found in and around the victim, namely cash, fishing bait and sharp weapons.

"There is also a kitchen knife, then a Honda key and a cellphone, it seems that everything is still complete," said Ryan.
