Angkot Driver Arrested, Rawamangun Terminal Often Used For Drug Transactions

JAKARTA - Matraman police chief Kompol Tedjo Asmoro is still investigating Sander Maharaja who was arrested in Rawamangun with two marijuana users. It is known that Sander has been in the business for six months.

"Suspect Sander has been circulating marijuana for 6 months through online sales", Tedjo told reporters, Thursday, September 16.

From Sander's house in Bekasi, the police managed to confiscate about 1.5 kg of dried marijuana and an electric weighing device.

The police said that the Rawamangun terminal had been the target of some information stating that the area was often used as a place for drug transactions.

"He was arrested at the Rawamangun terminal, often used as a transaction and drug user", said Kompol Tedjo.

He explained that to ensure the truth of the information, Kompol Tedjo asked the Buser team and other members to go undercover to the Rawamangun terminal.

"Some brought cars and disguised themselves as passengers. Finally, we found 3 people who were using marijuana", he said.

Then from the arrest, the police developed into several areas related to the origin of the marijuana. It is said that the perpetrators often sell them online.

"We found 1.5 kilograms of marijuana. The suspect circulated it online, where he put it and monitored it remotely when there was an order", he said.

As a result of his actions, the perpetrator was charged with Article 111 of Law Number 35 of 2009 concerning Narcotics with a maximum sentence of 12 years in prison.
