Reluctant To Reveal Chronology, Firli Says KPK OTT Happened In Hulu Sungai Utara

JAKARTA - Chairman of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Firli Bahuri confirmed the existence of a hand arrest operation (OTT) in South Kalimantan.

He said the silent operation took place at 20:00 in the northern Hulu Sungai district.

"Last night there was an active arrest in North Hulu Sungai Regency," said Firli in a written statement, Thursday, September 16.

However, he did not provide further details on the chronology or evidence, as well as who were arrested in the silent operation.

Firli only said that the arrested party was being investigated further at the KPK's Red and White House. So, he asked the public to be patient.

"It will be announced to the public," said the former deputy for enforcement.

Previously, a similar statement was also made by the Acting Spokesperson for the KPK for Enforcement, Ali Fikri. He said the OTT had been carried out in South Kalimantan without mentioning the parties involved.

In addition, Ali also said that the KPK has 1x24 hours to determine the legal status of the parties caught in the operation. Later all developments related to this arrest will be communicated to the public.
