SUKABUMI - The Sukabumi Regency COVID-19 Handling Acceleration Task Force noted that there were five sub-districts that became the areas with the highest COVID-19 patient deaths in Sukabumi Regency, West Java.

"From the data received by us, the five sub-districts have more than 30 deaths from COVID-19 patients, namely Cicurug, Jampangkulon, Surade, Cibadak and Simpenan sub-districts," said Public Relations of the Task Force for the Acceleration of COVID-19 Handling in Sukabumi Regency, Eneng Yulia in Sukabumi. , Between, Wednesday, September 15.

For Simpenan District there were 34 deaths, Cibadak with 35 deaths, Surade and Jampangkulon with 38 deaths each and Cicurug being the highest sub-district with 47 deaths.

According to Eneng, to date the total number of deaths in Sukabumi Regency has reached 581 cases and spread across all sub-districts. The majority of the patients who died were elderly, comorbid or had a history of other diseases.

Almost all patients died while undergoing intensive care in the special isolation room for COVID-19 referral hospitals both in the city and Sukabumi Regency.

"The patient was in a critical condition when he entered the hospital," said Eneng.

Meanwhile, several sub-districts with the lowest number of death cases were Cidolog District with one case and Cidadap and Kadudampit districts with two deaths each.

However, in the past month, the number of deaths from COVID-19 patients has decreased dramatically. In fact, in a week there was only one case of death, namely a 63-year-old male resident of Waluran District who was also comorbid with kidney failure. It is hoped that in the future there will be no more confirmed positive patients who died.

"Although the number of deaths has decreased drastically, it is possible that there will be an increase, even though it is not expected. Because until now there are still additional residents who have been confirmed positive, although the number is lower than the number of recovered patients," he added.

For data on the development of COVID-19 cases today, there are eight recovered patients and seven new cases. The total details for confirmed positive are 11,633 patients.

Of these, 11,012 patients have been declared cured, 40 patients are still undergoing isolation and 581 patients have died.

To reduce the number of cases of the spread of COVID-19, the Sukabumi Regency Government together with elements of the local leadership coordination forum (Forkopimda), assisted by volunteers and various other elements, continue to strive to provide education so that the community remains disciplined while accelerating the vaccination process and issuing other programs.
