Former Kuansing Regent Indictment Drags KPK Employees To Receive Rp650 Million, Ali Fikri: Physical Characteristics Have Been Pocketed

JAKARTA - Acting KPK Spokesperson for Enforcement, Ali Fikri, said that his party continues to search for his employee who is said to have received Rp650 million from the former Regent of Kuantan Singgih (Kuansing) Mursini.

This search was carried out after the alleged actions of his employees were revealed in the Mursini indictment some time ago.

"The KPK Inspectorate has taken action and is following up on this information seriously by coordinating with the Riau High Prosecutor's Office to explore more details of this initial information, in order to reveal who exactly the person claiming to be a KPK employee is," Ali told reporters, Wednesday, September 15.

He said the anti-corruption commission had now obtained information on the physical characteristics of the alleged recipient of the money. However, the exact name is not yet known.

"The KPK has just obtained information about the physical characteristics of the person in question, which is still general and abstract, even from the statements of the witnesses, the name of the person claiming to be a KPK employee is not yet known," said Ali.

So, now the KPK Inspectorate continues to conduct inspections in internal units. Including checking the official travel of employees, especially those who traveled to the Riau, Pangkal Pinang, and surrounding areas in 2016-2017 when the incident occurred.

Furthermore, Ali ensured that his party was serious about investigating this case even though the incident of receiving the money had occurred since 2017.

"KPK is very serious about ensuring that the implementation of the task of eradicating corruption by KPK personnel is carried out professionally and does not violate legal rules," he said.

"We hope that the defendant can help the KPK to clearly reveal the chronology, the positioning of the individuals in this case, and of course the more specific physical characteristics," Ali added.

Furthermore, Ali also asked the public to always be vigilant and careful with those who claim to be KPK employees and promise to manage cases that are being handled, especially since this often happens.

In addition, the KPK also urges the public to report any similar incidents. Reports can be made through the 198 call center or report them to local law enforcement officials.

"So that this type of fraud and extortion does not happen again," he concluded.
