Dandim 1715: Prada Ansar Victim Of Shooting With KKB In Stable Condition

JAYAPURA - Commander of Kodim 1715 Yahukimo Lt. Col. Inf Christian Irreuw said that Prada Ansar who was injured during a shootout with KKB in Kiwirok was in stable condition.

The victim, a member of the Pamtas Task Force (border security) from Battalion 403/WP, was injured in the right arm and will be evacuated to Oksibil or Jayapura.

"It has not been confirmed whether the wound was caused by splinters or other reasons, but it is confirmed that his condition is stable," said Inf. Lt. Col. Christian Irreuw, quoted by Antara, Monday, September 13.

Currently, Yonif 403 personnel are still pursuing the KKB group led by Lamek Tablo, who is suspected of being on their way to Batom.

Earlier on Tuesday, September 7, members of the Batom Koramil together with residents arrested two new KKB members from Papua New Guinea (PNG) with five long-barreled firearms.

The shootout occurred when members received a report and saw KKB passing around Kiwirok so they tried to intercept it, resulting in gunfire.

KKB then set fire to a number of public facilities, such as elementary school buildings (SD), the Papua Regional Development Bank (BPD) office and community health centers and houses.

"Members of the TNI and Polri are still on standby and civilians are currently securing themselves at the post," said Irreuw while admitting that previously KKB also burned heavy equipment belonging to PT. Wijaya Karya in Oksebang District.

PT Wika, which is a state-owned company, is working on the construction of the Oksibil-Towe Hitam road, and its heavy equipment was burned on Wednesday, September 8 last week. Kiwirok and Batom districts are areas bordering PNG.
