JAKARTA - KAI, KAI Commuter, and KAI Airport require all train services to require all their customers to have at least the first dose of COVID-19 vaccination.

KAI's VP of Public Relations Joni Martinus said the KAI Group's policy was carried out in accordance with the issuance of the Circular Letter of the Ministry of Transportation Number 69 of 2021.

"With the implementation of the vaccine requirements, the STRP requirements, Assignment Letter, or other certificates are no longer a requirement for local, commuter, or urban train customers," he said in a written statement, Sunday, September 12.

For local train services managed by KAI, said Joni, these conditions will only be implemented starting Tuesday, September 14, 2021. The proof of the COVID-19 vaccination will be checked by officers through the computer screen of the boarding officer before boarding the train.

Joni said the minimum vaccination requirement for the first dose is also a requirement for long-distance train travel. However, there is an additional requirement, namely that long-distance train customers must also show a certificate of negative RT-PCR test results a maximum of 2x24 hours or an Antigen Rapid Test a maximum of 1x24 hours before the scheduled departure.

Joni said customers under the age of 12 are still not allowed to travel by train. Then for customers with special health conditions or comorbid diseases that prevent them from receiving vaccines, they are required to attach a doctor's certificate from a government hospital stating that the person concerned has not and/or is unable to take vaccinations.

"KAI Group consistently applies strict health protocols according to government policies and only allows customers who meet the requirements to board the train. Thus, it is hoped that all train services can still be relied on by the public during the COVID-19 pandemic," he said.

Meanwhile, VP Hospitality and Customer Care of KAI Airport Fitri Kusumo Wardhani said that on September 13, 2021, a trial of the PeduliLindung application will be carried out at all Airport KAI Stations and passengers are required to have vaccinated at least the first dose on September 14, 2021.

Fitri also appealed to customers to always apply health protocols by being required to wear masks when in the station area or on airport train trips, maintain a minimum distance of one meter or follow available signs/marks with other passengers or officers, and check temperature.

"Airport KAI also regularly disinfects facilities both before and after operation, seats are equipped with dividers or bulkheads between passengers, all employees and customer service have carried out vaccinations twice, and provide hand sanitizers at stations and facilities," he said.
