MEDAN - The North Sumatra Police's Narcotics Investigation Directorate thwarted the circulation of 30 kg of marijuana.

This marijuana disclosure was near the Belmera Tollgate in the direction of Belawan, precisely under the flyover, Sei Mati Village, Medan Labuhan District.

From that failure, a suspect named Gosari Pulungan (48) was also arrested. The man who works as a driver is a resident of Neighborhood I, Block F, Indah Fisherman Village, Medan Labuhan District.

The Head of Public Relations of the North Sumatra Police, Kombes Hadi Wahyudi, said the disclosure began with public information about the circulation of marijuana-type drugs in the area.

Upon this information, officers immediately moved quickly and carried out an investigation. As a result, officers arrested the suspect with 30 bales of evidence wrapped with yellow duct tape containing marijuana stored in burlap sacks on Friday, September 10.

"From the statement of suspect Gosari, evidence of marijuana weighing 30 kg was obtained from a resident of Blangkejeren, Aceh, with the initials A, who we are still investigating", said Kombes Hadi, Sunday, September 12.

Hadi revealed, in the illicit business he did, the suspect Gosari got a profit of IDR 21 million if he managed to circulate it

"Now, the suspect and evidence of marijuana weighing 30 kg have been detained by the North Sumatra Police Narcotics Directorate to undergo examination and our efforts to develop whether there are other networks", he said.

"For his actions, the perpetrators face a sentence of 20 years of life", he concluded.
