Erick Thohir Asks KPK For Help To Oversee The National Economic Recovery Fund

JAKARTA - Special Staff of the Minister of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) Arya Sinulingga said the visit of the Minister of BUMN to the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) office asked for assistance related to National Economic Recovery (PEN).

"We got three PEN, yes, one is UMKM business, UMKM assistance, Askrindo loan funding then PNM, and the third is investment or what is known as bailout funds," Arya told reporters in Jakarta, Wednesday, July 8.

This assistance, he said, was carried out so that funds provided by the state to the Ministry of BUMN could be channeled and utilized in accordance with applicable regulations without violating the law. This is because these funds are prone to irregularities.

"With this assistance, we hope that the use of the budget can be properly guarded and the KPK welcomes it," he said.

Acting Spokesperson for the KPK in the field of prevention Ipi Maryati said there were a number of things discussed in the meeting which lasted 1.5 hours. Among them are discussing two things from the six financing schemes for handling COVID-19.

In the meeting, continued Ipi, the Minister of BUMN said that the mechanism and design of the economic program had not yet been completed.

"However, the BUMN minister conveyed the progress of each scheme including, for example, those related to working capital assistance and working capital inclusion," he said.

In addition, Ipi said Erick also suggested that the KPK continue to oversee each stage from the start. Included in making regulations. In fact, he said, the BUMN Minister offered the KPK to be included to provide input.

"Likewise with regard to program design and mechanism. Hopefully the KPK can provide input," he said, adding that Erick also asked the KPK to make a study on PEN.

"The KPK views it as an effort to strengthen coordination with related ministries in efforts to prevent corruption. Furthermore, it is agreed that technical discussions will be carried out at the level of the Deputy Minister and Deputy for Prevention," he concluded.
