JAKARTA - The National Police stated that the four terrorists arrested by Densus 88 Anti-terror recently had an important role in the Jamaah Islamiyah network. For example, the suspected terrorists S and MEK who are the Shield Builders.

"The other two suspects, S alias MT and MEK, are active in Pembina Shield," said Head of Operations Assistance for Densus 88 Kombes Aswin Siregar to reporters, Saturday, September 11.

For the suspected terrorist S alias MT, he was a member of Perisai in 2018. Perisai is the wing of the Jamaah Islamiyah organization in the field of advocacy.

"(S alias MT) is a member of the fundraising for Perisai in 2018, and the builder of Perisai Nusantara Esa in 2020," said Aswin.

Meanwhile, MEK terrorist suspects have a much bigger role. He served as chairman of the board and director.

"MEK has been the Chair of the Nusantara Esa Shield Management Board in 2017 and the Chair of the Shield Trustee in 2020," said Aswin.

On the previous occasion, Aswin had also stated that the suspected terrorist with the initials SH did not only act as an advisor or Shura Council in the Jamaah Islamiyah network. Because, he was also a member of the builder of the Shield in 2017.

Then, SH also had time to attend military training. However, it was not specified when he was involved in the training.

"I have participated in military exercises in Moro, Southern Philippines," said Aswin.
