Jokowi Asks TNI And Polri Officers In The Future To Be Smarter And More Innovative

JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo has asked the TNI and Polri teenage officer candidates to work optimally and not be monotonous in facing tougher and more dynamic challenges in the midst of global technology disruption and the crisis due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

"TNI and Polri officers in the future must have a mental attitude and work methods that are not mediocre, must be smarter and more agile in facing change, adapt quickly, and always think innovatively," Jokowi said when opening debriefing activities for prospective teenage officers ( capaja) TNI and Polri 2020 via video conference, Wednesday, July 8.

Moreover, the former governor of DKI Jakarta said that current military technology has begun to combine weaponry instruments using artificial intelligence.

In addition, the next challenge is crimes using sophisticated technology and transnational cyber crimes that must be better anticipated and mitigated in the future. Thus, President Jokowi asked TNI and Polri officers to continue learning to face these challenges.

"Brothers (TNI and Polri officers, red) are obliged to continue to study, study on their own, and study through institutions. We can no longer think in an ordinary way. We can no longer use monotonous ways of working, we can no longer use it. only the standards, "he said.

Jokowi also reminded that these young officers were consistent with the state ideology and maintained solidarity to face the threats and challenges ahead.

The National Police Chief asked the TNI-Polri officer candidates not to become mama's children

In the same place, the National Police Chief, General Idham Azis, asked the TNI and Polri to prepare mentally and not be spoiled because they have chosen to serve the country.

"Strengthen your mentality because you have chosen the path to serve in the Indonesian National Police, don't be a mama's child," said Idham.

He has prepared a plan to place police police officers in regional police stations that are far from the capital city of DKI Jakarta.

"I am planning to keep the Police Academy in five Polda. Papua, West Papua, Maluku, North Maluku and Poso. Let all the parents be happy," he said.

"Secondly, I am again thinking that I want to Brimobkan like I entered the PTIK. I want Brimobkan all of them so that everyone's disco is more cheerful," added Idham.

Apart from asking not to be spoiled, Idham reminded the prospective TNI and Polri officers to understand that in pursuing a career there is no instant way.

There are several steps that must be considered such as being responsible to yourself, not being careless or having to work hard, and being committed and having integrity.

"When you are on duty, don't forget the words. Please, thank you, and apologize. Remember my children, there is still a sky above the sky," he concluded.
