Criminal Threats For PPSU Person Who Damages The Environmental Office

JAKARTA - The police are still investigating the cause of the destruction of the environmental office in Bangka Urban Village, South Jakarta by five PPSU members. The police are still looking for evidence and information that triggered the vandalism and resulted in beatings.

Criminal Law Observer from Al Azhar University, Suparji Ahmad said, five PPSU officers could be convicted. This is because his actions have met the elements of destruction in accordance with Article 170 of the Criminal Code.

"The maximum penalty is five years and six months," Suparji told VOI, Wednesday, July 8.

Although the actions of the PPSU officers have fulfilled criminal elements, this case has not been improved. This is because the police are still looking for strong evidence to establish them as suspects.

To do so, the police must have at least two sufficient pieces of evidence. After all that is collected, then the police will increase the case.

"Maybe it is still carrying out an investigation to find evidence to be improved on investigations and to determine the suspect," said Suparji.

Suspected problems

The problems that triggered it were due to trivial things. However, there is an issue circulating if one of the environmental officers recorded that PPSU officers were drinking liquor.

From here, the action of destroying the Office of the Environmental Task Force (Kasatpel) for the Environment (LH) of Bangka Urban Village, Mampang Prapatan, South Jakarta. Destruction is done by breaking glass with a thrown stone.

Even in the office there was a commotion. One of the environmental officers who tried to intervene was hit and injured his temple.

However, Kapolsek Mampang, Kompol Sujarwo, said that based on the examination of witnesses and video recordings, no gamar was found that showed PPSU officers drinking liquor.

"If we talk about the existing facts, we do not find that the PPSU person drank alcohol. The results of the witness examination and the video were not there," said Sujarwo.

Thus, the trigger for the problem was allegedly due to a misunderstanding between the two parties. Currently, the case is still being investigated. However, the perpetrators of the PPSU have been identified.

"Until now, it is still being investigated. Nothing has been named as a suspect," concluded Sujarwo.
