Gunungkidul Regency Government Checks Photos Of Restaurants At Slili Beach It's Open Even Though It Should Be Closed

GUNUNGKIDUL - The Government of Gunungkidul Regency, Special Region of Yogyakarta, will check photo uploads on social media where several restaurants in the Slili Beach area have been opened.

Even though until now all tourist attractions in this region are still temporarily closed until there is a technical policy from the center.

Secretary of the Gunungkidul Tourism Office, Harry Sukmono, said that after receiving information, they immediately coordinated with the Gunungkidul Regency Law Enforcement Supervision Control Team on September 9th.

"If it's really open, it will hurt our collective commitment in implementing this PPKM (Community Activity Restrictions)", he said, quoted by Antara, Thursday, September 9.

He ensured that the Gunungkidul Regency Government is still closing the tourist area until September 13, 2021. This is by the central government's decision regarding the extension of PPKM level 3 for all DI Yogyakarta.

"We understand and can feel what tourism actors and tourists feel who are already fed up with the current conditions. But because the conditions are still as they are today, we must support them so that they are controlled and finished soon", he said.

Meanwhile, the Head of the Regional Regulation Enforcement Division of the Gunungkidul Civil Service Police Unit, Sugito, said that they had received direct orders from the Gunungkidul Regent, Sunaryanta, to verify the opening of the restaurant.

He said that the photo content was only on social media, so it had to be proven true. From the uploads on Instagram, two restaurants on Slili Beach, and another one located between Sadranan Beach and Ngandong Beach, stated that they had received guests.

To enter the area, you must pass through the retribution collection point which is still closed and guarded by officers.

"If it is proven that it is open and does not have a permit from the Tourism Office, then we will immediately close the restaurant according to the rules that apply during PPKM", he said.
