Earthquake In Rangkasbitung, No Tsunami Potential

JAKARTA - An earthquake rocked the Rangkas Bitung area, Banten, at around 11.44 WIB, Tuesday, July 7.

The earthquake centered on the mainland, 18 kilometers southwest of Rangkasbitung with a depth of 82 kilometers.

BMKG informed that this earthquake did not cause a tsunami.

The earthquake this time has a magnitude of 5.4, located at coordinates 6.69 latitude, 106.14 east longitude

BMKG appealed to the public to always be careful about aftershocks that might occur.

From monitoring on BMKG uploads on Twitter, a number of netizens said that the earthquake was affected. The earthquake was reported by a number of citizens who were felt in the areas of Jakarta, Tangerang, South Tangerang, Bogor, Depok and Sukabumi.

This morning, an earthquake rocked the Jepara area, Central Java at around 05:54 WIB, Tuesday, July 7.

The earthquake centered on the waters of the Indian Ocean with a distance of 53 kilometers from the northwest of Jepara with a depth of 578 kilometers

BMKG informed that the earthquake that rocked Jepara did not cause a tsunami.

However, there is still no known link between these two earthquakes.
