PALEMBANG - The South Sumatran Police have brought an investigation into the case of providing a fictitious COVID-19 relief grant worth IDR 2 trillion to the Ernaldi Bahar Mental Hospital (RSJ) in Palembang.

The Director of General Criminal Investigation at the South Sumatra Police, Kombes Hisar Siallagan, said that the examined Heriyanty was taken to the RSJ to undergo an observation on his mental health condition.

"His physical and mental health were examined, thus facilitating the investigation process by investigators against him," said Hisar, quoted by Antara, Wednesday, September 8.

According to him, the examination process on Heryanti has not run optimally because investigators always find reasons that the health condition of the examinee is declining. Because it became one of the inhibiting factors to resolve the case he was facing.

"His health condition is always the reason he cannot be questioned," he said.

That way, the results of Herianti's physical and mental health examinations will certainly be supporting evidence in the case before the investigator determines her legal status.

Meanwhile, Heriyanti has the status of being investigated for two cases, in addition to a fictitious COVID-19 relief grant and was also reported for an alleged case of fraudulent venture capital worth IDR 2.5 billion by an obstetrician.

Heriyanti has caused a commotion throughout the course of the Rp2 trillion fictitious grant fund case, which culminated in the National Police Headquarters dispatching a team to conduct an internal examination of the former Chief of Police, Inspector General of Police Eko Indra Heri.

Had to withdraw the report

Previously, an obstetrician in Palembang, Siti Mirza, who was a victim of fraud by Heriyanti, said that the reported had contacted her to request a report and promised to pay her Rp2.5 billion debt.

"Tuesday morning at around 10.00 WIB I got a call, saying that I wanted to pay. So I answered that I paid first and then I withdrew the report, it's up to me to pay in full or not, the important thing is to pay," he said.

According to him, even though he sees Heryanti as a good person because he has known her for a long time, he can no longer trust her because he has made too many promises.

"Maybe 100-200 times I have said that I promise to pay, so I don't believe it anymore," he said.

Heriyanti was officially reported to the South Sumatra Police on Wednesday, August 11 through legal counsel Rangga Afrianto.

Heriyanti initially offered Siti Mirza to invest in her expedition.

Siti was promised a profit of 10-12 percent every month at the beginning of the investment, she also gave money of Rp. 400 million.

After six months of running, the agreement began to stall. Then Heryanti in March 2021 borrowed another Rp500 million for the reason of paying the expedition vehicle tax.
