DENPASAR - Deputy Governor of Bali Tjokorda Oka Artha Ardana Sukawati (Cok Ace) appreciated the steps taken by the Regional Office of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights (Kemenkum HAM) Bali, regarding the plan to take firm action for Foreign Citizens (WNA) in Bali.

Deputy Governor Cok Ace realized that there were still many foreigners in Bali who violated health protocols. According to Cok Ace, this could damage the image of Bali, which is trying to reduce the spread of the COVID-19 virus in Bali.

“Moreover, Bali recently received praise from the Central Government for its success in reducing the number of cases and death rates. Don't let this achievement be tarnished by irresponsible actions," said Cok Ace when receiving an audience from the Regional Office of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights, Monday, September 6.

Deputy Governor Cok Ace admitted that he received a report from the Bali Provincial Government Satpol PP who found violations such as foreigners or foreigners in Bali who did not wear masks in public places and even held events in closed rooms without masks.

Satpol PP has taken actions in the form of administrative sanctions to swabs for them.

"But of course this is not enough, we will also take tougher actions together with the Regional Office of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights, such as deportation," he explained.

In addition, Deputy Governor Cok Ace said that his party is currently designing an essential travel scheme. So foreigners who have a work visa can directly come to Bali.

"We are targeting diplomats from friendly countries and businessmen to come to Bali. Even though it does not produce significant results, at least it can move hotels in Bali," he said.

Meanwhile, the Head of the Regional Office of the Bali Ministry of Law and Human Rights, Jamaruli Manihuruk, said that the meeting with the Deputy Governor of Bali related to the operation of the Bali Ministry of Law and Human Rights, especially from the Immigration Office in terms of monitoring foreign citizens' residence permit documents.

The implementation has been assisted by the Bali Satpol PP in monitoring and controlling health protocols for foreigners or Caucasians in Bali.

"In this case, we from the regional office of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights in Bali ask for support from the Deputy Governor, especially from elements of the Bali Provincial Satpol PP to carry out surveillance operations for foreigners as well as operations related to compliance with the Health Protocol," said Jamaruli.

Jamaruli also asked for support from the Deputy Governor as chairman of the Bali Province PHRI to support the program from the Bali Ministry of Law and Human Rights.

"Hopefully, with routine surveillance operations for foreigners and compliance with health protocols, people will become more obedient and disciplined. So that the current situation can get better and tourism in the province of Bali can run normally again so that what was previously planned, tourists visiting Bali can immediately realized," said Jamaruli
