Joint officers evacuate a body suspected of being male in a car (ANTARA)

JAKARTA - Pancoran police officers evacuated a body suspected of being male in a car with police number B 1991 driving license on Jalan Raya Duren Tiga Raya Pancoran, South Jakarta, Friday night.

At around 19.30 WIB, a number of officers from the South Jakarta Fire and Rescue (Gukarmat) unit, the TNI and the National Police evacuated the body into an ambulance belonging to the Pancoran Health Center.

Head of the Pancoran Police Traffic Sub-Unit, Police Inspector One Deni Setiawan when met at the location said, before evacuating the body, his party first carried out a PCR swab test to avoid potential exposure to COVID-19.

"We officers do not take steps arbitrarily. That's why we swab first by health workers," Deni said as quoted by Antara.

So far, they do not know the cause of the incident. "According to information from the parking attendant, at first the red light stopped, then when the green light didn't work, he didn't move forward," he said.

He said that his party received the report at around 18.30 WIB. "The body was taken to the Kramat Jati Police Hospital for an autopsy by officers," said Deni.

One of the residents, Sony Alfian Dwi Sastra (32), admitted that he first learned about the incident after directly checking the car where the body was traveling.

At first he was curious because the car didn't seem to move even though the traffic light was green.

"I saw clearly, because the green light was around, for about 5-10 minutes he didn't work. Finally, I personally tried to check and it turned out that the condition of the driver was helpless in the seat with the condition of his foot brake," he said.
