Novel Baswedan Asks Lili Pintauli To Be Criminally Reported, KPK Council: There Is No Provision For Reporting

JAKARTA - Member of the Supervisory Board of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Harjono will not criminally report KPK Deputy Chairwoman, Lili Pintauli Siregar, to other law enforcement officers.

He conveyed this in response to statements by the non-active KPK investigator Novel Baswedan and other employees who asked the Supervisory Board to report Lili criminally.

Lili is considered to have committed a prohibited act in Article 36 of Law Number 20 of 2002 by contacting the litigants directly, namely the inactive Tanjungbalai Mayor, M Syaharial.

"The Supervisory Board has no provision for reporting. If it's not a complaint offense, you don't have to be an adult to report it", said Harjono to reporters, Friday, September 3.

He invited Novel Baswedan to report directly to other law enforcers if he thought that Lili had violated the criminal article.

"Yes (report yourself, red)", he said.

As previously reported, Lili was declared to have violated the code of ethics for abusing her authority for personal gain and meeting directly with the litigants, namely the Mayor of Tanjungbalai M Syahrial, who is a suspect in the bribery case of buying and selling positions.

As a result, the KPK Supervisory Board imposed a sanction in the form of a 40 percent reduction in basic salary for 12 months or IDR 1.8 million from IDR 4,620,000.
