Ojol Drivers Become Victims Of Theft After Buying Facial Soap At Indomaret Cengkareng

JAKARTA – Firdaningsih, 40, a female online motorcycle taxi driver (ojol) cannot work to find passengers because her motorbike was stolen. The theft took place at the Indomaret parking lot on Jalan Kapuk Raya, Kapuk, Cengkareng, West Jakarta.

After reporting to the Cengkareng Police, the officers obtained evidence of CCTV footage installed in the Indomaret courtyard. The CCTV footage has been circulating on social media.

Lucas, 19 years old, Firdaningsih's son, explained that the theft occurred after his mother worked all day taking passengers.

"At that time, my mother had pulled (work) and bought facial soap at Indomaret. Parked in the parking lot in front of Indomaret," Lucas told reporters, Wednesday, September 1.

"When I returned to the parking lot, my mother couldn't find her motorbike anymore." continued Lucas.

Based on CCTV footage, Firdaningsih and Lucas saw two perpetrators.

"At that time, I immediately checked the Indomaret CCTV. Then it was true that the motorbike was taken by someone," added Lucas.

The Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the Cengkareng Police, Iptu Bintang, stated that he had received the report.

"We have checked the CCTV footage. We are still investigating," said Bintang.
