2 Million Doses Of COVID-19 Vaccine Has Entered East Java, Immediately Distributed To Regions

SURABAYA - The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) distributed 2 million doses of COVID-19 vaccine to East Java. The East Java Regional Police Chief Inspector General Nico Afinta said the vaccine would soon be distributed to 38 districts/cities in East Java.

"About 2 million vaccines have already entered East Java, and will soon be distributed to regions," said East Java Police Chief Inspector General Nico Afinta, while reviewing vaccinations at SMA Negeri 1 Gresik, Wednesday, September 1.

According to Nico, the East Java COVID-19 Task Force is currently preparing the distribution process for the millions of vaccines. Later, the vaccine will be distributed to Puskesmas as the spearhead in various regions.

"So, it is necessary to prepare the Puskesmas to be the spearhead, including the preparation of health workers and their additions," he said.

Nico hopes that with good collaboration and coordination, the implementation of vaccination can run effectively and smoothly. So that the target of 70 percent of communal immunity is expected to be achieved.

While on a visit to Gresik Regency, the high-ranking officer with two gold stars on his shoulders reviewed the implementation of vaccinations at SMA Negeri 1 Gresik, which targeted 1,249 students receiving doses of Sinovac vaccine.

Nico admitted that the visit to the school was a form of encouragement for the activities of the Gresik Forkopimda ranks, especially the vaccination of students.

"Thank you to the ranks who have worked together to make the vaccination a success," he said.

Meanwhile, Gresik Regent Fandi Akhmad Yani, said the vaccination dose for students in the area is targeted to be completed this week with a target of 5,000 doses, then continued next week for students who have not received it.

During the visit, the East Java Police Chief was accompanied by the Gresik Regent and the Gresik Police Chief AKBP Arief Fitrianto and the 0817 Dandim Lieutenant Colonel Taufik Ismail, and they directly observed the injection of vaccines to students.
