ICW Wants Moeldoko's Answer Through Scientific Debate, Not Legal

JAKARTA - Responding to Moeldoko's statement and his attorney Otto Hasibuan who planned to report ICW to the police in a press release held on Tuesday, August 31, three attorneys for Indonesia Corruption Watch (ICW) M Isnur, Julius Hebrew, Erwin Natosmal responded.

Through a written statement, ICW said it had repeatedly explained that the results of ICW's research did not accuse any particular party.

“We have also conveyed this in three letters in response to the subpoena to Moeldoko through his attorney, Otto Hasibuan. Because, if you look closely, press releases entitled "The Ivermectin Polemic: Hunting Rent in the Middle of a Crisis" always use the words "indication" and "allegation". What ICW describes is an indication of a conflict of interest between public officials and private parties, not as individuals." said ICW's attorney through a short message received by VOI, Tuesday, August 31, evening.

ICW in a written statement said, specifically for rice exports, it has also apologized for the error in the statement.

“For us, the issue of mis-information is not the main issue, because the crucial point that must be explained by Moeldoko is what was his motivation for meeting or communicating with Sofia Koswara and then asking for Ivermectin's distribution permit? Is it because Sofia Koswara is close to her son because they are members of the same company? As in ICW research.” he explained.

ICW considers that reporting or reporting to the police is the right of every citizen individually or individually. According to ICW, it is only right that Moeldoko wants to take the matter to law enforcement.
