COVID-19 Update As Of August 31: 10.534, New Cases, Recovered Cases Increase To 16.781

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) released the latest additional positive cases of COVID-19 as of today. A total of 224.242 specimens were examined with the result that there were 10 534 new positive cases of COVID-19.

"The total accumulation of positive cases since COVID-19 was discovered in Indonesia has reached 4.089.801 people and 196.281 active cases", said Ministry of Health data, Tuesday, August 31.

Today's recovered cases increased by 16.781 cases, bringing the total to 3.760.497 recovered people. Then, the positive confirmed cases who died increased by 532 people and the total was 133.023 people.

The province with the newest cases was in East Java with 1.323 cases and a total of 383.252 cases. Followed by West Java which has 1.127 new cases with a total of 690.924 cases. North Sumatra has 792 new cases and a total of 96.304 cases. Then, Central Java had 635 new cases and a total of 469.321 cases.

The province with the most recovered cases today belongs to West Java with an additional 2.287 recovered cases. Followed by East Java with an increase of 1.640 recovered cases, DI Yogyakarta with an increase of 1.127 recovered cases, and Central Java with an increase of 1.102 recovered cases.

No province has reported zero new cases as of today. In addition, the number of specimens that have been examined using RT-PCR, TCM, and antigens has reached 32.195.072.

"Positive results per person examined or the positivity rate of people this week is 13.42 percent", he wrote.

The number of people suspected of contracting COVID-19 or who are currently categorized as suspected cases was recorded at 248.333 people. Currently, 34 provinces have had cases of COVID-19.

To date, 63.111.288 people have received the first dose of COVID-19 vaccination and 35.855.211 people have received the second dose of vaccination. Meanwhile, the target for vaccination in Indonesia is 208.265.720 people.
