Examining The Reasons For The Alleged Via Vallen Car Arsonist

JAKARTA - The case of burning the Via Vallen car has begun to find a bright spot. From the results of the interim examination, the alleged perpetrator with the initials P did this so he could meet his idol artist.

Psychologist from the University of Indonesia Rose Mini Agoes Salim said there was an allegation of the alleged perpetrator who burned the Via Vallen car due to a momentary emotional impulse. The goal is to get the perpetrator's attention.

"There might be an emotional boost from the person concerned. So, at that time he didn't think logically," Rose told VOI, Wednesday, June 1.

However, to ascertain the reason behind the burning of the Via Vallen car, Rose continued, further investigation must be carried out. Because, there are other allegations that the motive behind this case was not because he idolized and wanted to meet.

"It must be examined carefully, whether there is a problem with Via Vallen or not," said Rose.

Meanwhile, University of Indonesia Forensic Psychologist Kassandra Putranto said, reflecting on the reason the alleged perpetrator met his idol, this arson occurred because of limited decision-making capacity. The perpetrator did not think long and hard about the impact of his actions.

"Basically it should be assumed that this is related to limited decision-making capacity and high emotional impulses," said Kassandra

The perpetrator's confession

The Head of Sidoarjo Police, Kombes Sumardji, said that based on the results of the interim investigation, the suspected perpetrator was determined to burn Via Vallen's car because he wanted to meet. The perpetrator had been around the Via Vallen residence, in Tanggulangin, Sidoarjo, for one week.

"He admits that he is a big fan of Via Vallen. He was in the Sidoarjo area one week ago," said Sumardji.

Sumardji said the suspected perpetrator did the burning of the car by pouring gasoline and then burning it. This is known based on the evidence found in the suspect's bag and surveillance camera footage.

"There is evidence that the bottle still smells of gasoline. Besides, we are also securing the bag which is used as evidence," Sumardji said, Tuesday, June 30.

In addition, based on the surveillance camera recordings, the suspected perpetrators can also be secured. This is because the recording clearly shows the clothes used and the body characteristics of the arsonists.

"We can see from the gesture that the clothes are almost the same as the perpetrators we secured," said Sumardji.
