Three Reasons You Should Use PeduliLindung Applications For Activities

JAKARTA - The government requires the public to use the PeduliLindung application for several activities, such as malls, offices, restaurants, markets, and sports facilities.

Health Minister, Budi Gunadi Sadikin, explained three reasons why the government obliges the public to use the information technology made by the Ministry of Health.

First, PeduliLindung functions for screening. To carry out various activities, everyone will be detected whether they have received a vaccination or have a COVID-19 test.

"So, if people want to carry out their activities, we will test them online and in real-time, whether they have been vaccinated or have they been PCR tested", Budi said in a virtual press conference, Monday, August 30.

Second, the use of PeduliLindung serves as a tracing or contact tracing if a positive confirmed case is found.

There will be an addition to the black color category for people identified as positive for COVID-19 or close contacts. If these people are still forced to carry out activities in public spaces, then they will be immediately evacuated for isolation or quarantine.

"Every time he does an activity in a different location, he has to shoot (scan) the barcode so we know that if one day we want to trace the infection, we can be fast", said Budi.

Third, PeduliLindung functions as control over the implementation of health protocols. Budi gave an example, people who have been vaccinated can eat on the spot by sitting at each table as many as four people and those who have not been vaccinated can only sit at each table for two people.

"Or those who have been vaccinated may sit at a table in the air conditioner, or if they have been vaccinated, the stands may be tighter, they may shout, sell food. Those who have not been vaccinated have different stands, less often, must wear masks, cannot eat", said Budi.

As of August 29 yesterday, the total number of people who screened using PeduliLindung in several public sectors such as shopping centers, industry, sports, and others had reached 13.6 million people.

Of the total 13.6 million people, there are 462 thousand people who are in the red category, not allowed to enter/do activities by the system.

Budi explained that the PeduliLindung application is ready to be used in 6 community activities, including:

1. Trading activities, malls, modern markets, traditional markets, and shops
2. Land, sea, and air transportation
3. Tourism activities such as football matches, golf matches, and culinary
4. Work activities in offices or factories
5. Educational activities ranging from elementary, junior high, high school, and college
6. Religious activities and holidays
