Fighting, Police Shoot The Three Legs Of Luxury Car Thief Arrested In Lampung

SEMARANG - Central Java Regional Police (Polda) shot three members of a luxury car thief gang that had been operating in a number of locations in this province.

Director of General Criminal Investigation of the Central Java Police Kombes Djuhandani said the gang was recorded to have acted in three locations in the Banyumas Regency and Purbalingga Regency.

The perpetrators, each with the initials MH, RJ, and A, were arrested in Lampung along with three stolen cars which were sold to a dealer.

"The three perpetrators had to be rewarded with hot lead in their legs for trying to resist when they were about to be arrested," he said in Semarang, as reported by Antara, Monday, August 30.

The three actors, he continued, had their respective roles in action.

He explained the mode used by the perpetrators when they acted by renting a house in the area that was the target.

"The perpetrator then went around using a motorcycle to find the target owner of a luxury car," he said.

After getting the target, he said, the perpetrator entered the victim's house which he had targeted to retrieve the car keys.

"The car was then taken away with the key taken when entering the victim's house," he added.

Three stolen cars were also secured along with the perpetrators, respectively Mitsubshi Pajero, Toyota Fortuner, and Honda CRV.

Currently, he said, the police are still hunting for one perpetrator with the initials IK who acts as a collector of stolen goods.

For their actions, he said, the suspects were charged with Article 364 of the Criminal Code concerning theft.
