JAKARTA - Chair of the Indonesian Human Capital Forum (FHCI) Alexandra Askandar said more women could become leaders of state-owned companies. According to Alexandra, great female talents will inspire women in BUMN.

"We have many great female talents who will inspire women in BUMN but also throughout Indonesia," said Alexandra, as quoted by Antara, Saturday, August 28.

Alexandra appreciates Srikandi BUMN's support in supporting female talent, taking part not only in BUMN but reaching the wider community through the "Girls Take Over" campaign.

"We encourage the participation of SOEs in competitions at both national and international levels, to raise the inspiring female figures of SOEs," she explained.

Alexandra added that her party would synergize with FHCI wing organizations, namely Srikandi BUMN and BUMN Muda, to increase the number of female leaders in BUMN. The target for 2021 is 15 percent of female leaders in BUMN.

The head of Srikandi BUMN, Tina Kemala Intan, said that Srikandi BUMN was formed specifically to carry out a special focus, namely women's leadership, and women's empowerment.

“We want the leadership that happens is equal leadership. Not just gender bias. Diversity within a company has proven to be successful in improving company performance and bringing jobs,” said Tina.

Tina added that currently, Srikandi BUMN is conducting a study on women's leadership in BUMN, the results of which will later be used as input to the BUMN ministry.

Her party encourages SOE companies to provide a good ecosystem, so that women can work and have careers.
