Police Arrest Two Men Carrying Psychotropic Drugs In Melawai

JAKARTA - Police arrested two gangs suspected of being involved in psychotropic drugs on Jl Iskandarsyah, Melawai, Kebayoran Lama, South Jakarta. Using a motorbike, the two groups tried to escape. But failed after the police fired two bullets in the air.

At around five o'clock in the afternoon, officers at the location saw suspicious plastic that fell from the perpetrator's vehicle.

"When the lane was jammed, then the black plastic fell and was seen by members and asked by members. But they responded with an unpleasant attitude," explained South Jakarta Police Narcotics AKBP Wadi Sabani to reporters, Thursday, August 26.

Wadi also explained that the perpetrator panicked and tried to run away when the officers asked the two people about the black plastic which was suspected to contain psychotropic drugs.

Quickly, the police fired warning shots upwards. The perpetrator was caught without a fight.

"Members on the road saw bad behavior when asked, so they were given warning shots by members in the field," said Wadi.

The police immediately took the two people to the South Jakarta Metro Police for questioning.

"We will continue a deeper investigation of where the goods came from. We will convey the details again. Until now we are carrying out further investigations," concluded Wadi.
