Surabaya City Government Prepares Assistance For Families Of Collapsed House In Tambaksari, Killing One Person

SURABAYA - The Surabaya City Government (Pemkot) has prepared assistance for families whose houses collapsed on Jalan Tambaksari Selatan IV No 11A Surabaya. This assistance is a form of attention from the city government, especially to its citizens who are experiencing a disaster.

The Head of Tambaksari Sub-District of Surabaya, Ridwan Mubarun, said that his party through the sub-district is proposing to the Social Service (Dinsos), for the improvement of its residents' houses through the Unfit for Habitability (Rutilahu) program. Currently, the required documents for administrative completeness requirements are being prepared.

"So we will propose to renovate the house later. Today the Human Settlements Agency (DPRKP-CKTR) checks and cleans the house," said Head of Sub-District Ridwan, Thursday, August 26.

Not only seeking assistance so that the family can receive routine assistance programs. Ridwan also asked the local RT management to immediately conduct a termite spraying movement against old houses around the location. Moreover, the alleged cause of the collapse of the house was due to termites.

"My plan is also to ask for termite spraying. Including the houses next to it also need termite spraying. I have written a letter so that it can be submitted immediately," said Ridwan.

As for family care, Ridwan ensured that all costs had been borne by BPJS Kesehatan. This means that the family has been registered as a participant in the BPJS Health insurance. "There is already BPJS for treatment. So there is no problem for the cost of treating children with their grandmothers in the hospital," he said.

Meanwhile, the Head of the Social Service Office of the City of Surabaya, Suharto Wardoyo, said that after the letter of application for the routine program was received, his party made sure to immediately carry out administrative and field verification. This is as regulated in Perwali No. 6 of 2019.

"We are still waiting for the proposal letter. Because the letter was proposed through the kelurahan. Including related to the status of the land, it is not in dispute and so on," said Anang as he is familiarly known.

After the verification results meet the requirements and criteria for prospective recipients, the routine program budget will automatically be lowered and realized. Furthermore, home renovations or repairs will be carried out through the Community Partnership Program (PKM).

"Later, the routine budget will be submitted to the PKM in Tambaksari Village. So the PKM will do the house repairs later," he said.
