Members Of F-PDIP DPRD Solo Ask Apparatus To Take Strict Action Against Vandalism Perpetrators Criticize PPKM Surakarta

SOLO - Surakarta City DPRD, Central Java, asked the authorities to take firm action against vandalism perpetrators in the form of doodles suspected of containing criticism related to the policy of imposing restrictions on community activities (PPKM) level 4.

A member of the Surakarta City DPRD who is also the Chairman of Commission I, Suharsono, said that in any context, vandalism results in destruction. Therefore, the action is not justified.

"It's better if the aspiration is conveyed directly, if it cannot be conveyed through the legal realm, it can be conveyed through deliberation to reach consensus," he said, quoted by Antara, Thursday, August 26.

If residents object to the implementation of PPKM, said the PDI-P politician, it is best if they convey their aspirations directly and openly. Complaints can be submitted to the Surakarta City Government and the Surakarta City DPRD.

"What is the objection, convey it directly. Don't use vandalism, it's not effective," he said.

Regarding vandalism in the form of graffiti at several points in the Pasar Legi area, according to him, the perpetrators must be subject to sanctions so that they can provide a deterrent effect.

"The key to vandalism is in the apparatus. The apparatus must be firm because the police have intelligence. The sanctions must be deterrent, the law is clear," said Suharsono.

Suharsono hopes that Surakarta Mayor Gibran Rakabuming Raka can visit residents affected by PPKM level 4 directly. Thus, the regional head can know for sure what the residents' difficulties are.

"Then a solution was found. I myself as a member of the DPRD often receive complaints from residents, especially regarding the implementation of this PPKM," he said.
