JAKARTA - TNI Commander Marshal TNI Hadi Tjahjanto invited the people of Yogyakarta, especially students, to participate in COVID-19 vaccination activities to suppress the spread of the new Coronavirus.

"Thank you, ladies and gentlemen, for carrying out the vaccination, let's invite friends and relatives to carry out the vaccine", said the TNI Commander to the vaccination participants at Aisyiyah University, Yogyakarta, quoted by Antara, Wednesday, August 25.

Around 1,500 people consisting of students and residents around the campus took part in the COVID-19 vaccination at the Aisyiyah Campus, Yogyakarta. In that activity, 55 health workers served as vaccinators. Dozens of health workers were divided into 11 teams.

The TNI Commander, while reviewing the vaccination implementation, encouraged the health workers and greeted the participants.

Marshal Hadi reminded the participants to keep implementing health protocols such as wearing masks, washing hands, maintaining distance, staying away from crowds, and reducing mobility to reduce the rate of transmission of COVID-19.

“Remember, wearing a mask, washing hands, and keeping a distance must have become basic needs. Build awareness for yourself and remind the environment", he said.

The TNI Commander routinely travels to areas, especially those that are in the red zone or whose positive confirmation cases are still high to directly supervise the implementation of vaccination and 3T in those areas.

3T is an inspection, tracking, and treatment activity that is the main program for handling COVID-19.

The TNI commander last week also visited Kulon Progo and Gunungkidul to review the implementation of vaccination and centralized isolation.

Centralized isolation is one of the government's steps to monitor the condition of asymptomatic COVID-19 patients and those with mild symptoms to prevent the risk of death.

This is because COVID-19 patients undergoing centralized isolation will receive care and treatment from health workers.

Therefore, the TNI Commander on various occasions, including in Kulon Progo and Gunung Kidul, last week asked people affected by COVID-19 to undergo treatment in centralized isolation places rather than undergo independent isolation in their respective homes.
