JAKARTA - The National Police has confirmed that they will not prosecute those who make the '404: Not Found' image or mural on a face that looks like President Joko Widodo (Jokowi). The police said the mural was an artistic expression of the community.

"Regarding the circulating murals, of course, the murals were made by people in various shapes or forms of painting, as a form of expression," said the Head of the Public Relations Division of the National Police Inspector General Argo Yuwono to reporters, Friday, August 20.

In fact, the Police appreciated the mural. However, what needs to be emphasized is that creativity must be in its place and not harm others.

"We appreciate the young people, the children who can provide inspiration that is in the form of paintings. But it must also be in the right place," said Argo.

For these reasons, the Police said they would not process the matter. "For now the police are not processing it," said Argo.

Previously, the Head of the Criminal Investigation Unit of the National Police, Komjen Agus Andrianto, said that one of the reasons for not taking action was because President Jokowi did not approve of it.

"Mr. President is not pleased if we are responsive to things like that," said Komjen Agus.

Moreover, if you look further, Agus said that in such problems, it is preferred that there are reports from victims. However, President Jokowi did not want to report or respond further regarding the mural.

"Attacking individually does indicate that the victim must report it, especially in this case the President also does not want the Police to be reactive and responsive to this problem," said Agus.

In addition, the National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit also conveyed the same thing. Moreover, the problem of solving problems that contain elements of ITE must be resolved by restorative justice.
