PSSI Will Use Training, DKI Promises To Prioritize JIS Stadium For Persija

JAKARTA - The DKI Provincial Government is collaborating with the All-Indonesian Football Association (PSSI) in the utilization of the Jakarta International Stadium (JIS) in North Jakarta.

However, DKI BUMD PT Jakarta Propertindo asserted, if operating, the JIS stadium would still prioritize its training fields for soccer clubs in Jakarta, such as Persija.

Jakpro Sportainment Project Director Muhammad Maulana said that JIS's priority for soccer clubs in Jakarta had been the instruction of DKI Governor Anies Baswedan.

"In accordance with the directives of the Governor of DKI Jakarta, JIS is prioritized for clubs from Jakarta. For example, if there is a schedule clash between Persija and another soccer team in the use of JIS, then Persija will get priority first," said Maulana in his statement, Thursday, August 19.

Maulana said, from the very beginning the construction of JIS has carried the motto #StadionKita, which is a reflection of the spirit of unity and sportsmanship in the field of sports, especially in Jakarta.

However, Jakpro as JIS manager does not close the opportunity for cooperation with other strategic parties, in order to encourage the advancement of sports achievements in Jakarta.

"Jakpro will always be open to cooperation and collaboration with various parties, so that it does not close the opportunity for cooperation with other strategic parties," he said.

It is known, DKI Jakarta has entered into a cooperation agreement to use the Jakarta International Stadium (JIS) for sports activities and optimize the sports industry in Indonesia.

The stadium, which was initiated by Anies Baswedan, when operating, PSSI will be able to carry out a number of activities, such as holding national and international events and matches.

In addition, the commercialization of stadiums and areas, development of the use of training fields, main fields and areas, as well as the development of national football sports with international standards.

JIS is targeted to be inaugurated in September 2021. It is said, JIS will become the largest stadium in Indonesia according to FIFA standards and even become the top 10 grandest stadiums in the world, according to the media version of the Daily Mail based in London, England.

The technology installed in this stadium includes the lifting of the stadium roof structure with the heaviest weight being lifted simultaneously, the first stadium to use an open-closed roof system, and the first green building stadium with platinum certification.
