PPKM Extension In Klaten Insinuated Through Leaflets, Police Intervene

JAKARTA - The police are investigating the circulation of leaflets containing innuendos to the policy of extending the Implementation of Community Activity Restrictions (PPKM) in the Klaten Regency, Central Java.

"We are currently being investigated regarding leaflets regarding the extension of the PPKM circulating in the Klaten area," said Head of Public Relations of the Central Java Police, Kombes Iqbal Alqudusy in a press release, in Semarang, reported by Antara, Wednesday, August 18.

According to him, from the search, the leaflets were found at a number of points in Klaten Regency, such as at traffic lights at the intersection of GOR Title Sena, at the GOR fence wall, at the intersection of MAN 2 Klaten, and the gate wall of Taman Lampion.

There are three different types of writing in the leaflets that contain satire about the implementation of PPKM.

Iqbal admits that the PPKM policy has disrupted many sectors. However, he said, the health and safety of the people is the main factor.

"We ask for patience and public awareness in fighting COVID-19, among others, by implementing health protocols," he also said.
