Regent Ipuk Prepares Aid For 500 Children Who Lost Parents Due To COVID-19

BANYUWANGI - The Regent of Banyuwangi, East Java, Ipuk Fiestiandani has prepared an aid scheme for orphaned children because their parents died of exposure to COVID-19. Banyuwangi Regency Government data, there are about 500 children who lost their parents.

"The data from the social service agency shows that there are around 500 children who have lost their parents due to COVID. This data is not final", said Regent Ipuk, Wednesday, August 18.

Later the aid will be sorted according to the category of underprivileged children to those who become orphans.

"We sort it out for help, for the incapable and the incapable. We focus on children who can't afford it and don't have both parents", she said.

The story of children losing their parents due to COVID-19 was experienced by Andika Bayu Prasetyo (16) and Diana Avisa Aurilia (11), and Evan Raisa.

All three lost their mother, Vika Dwi Novianti, a health worker at the Licin Health Center, Banyuwangi. Seven years earlier, the father of three children, Deni Kurniawan, died.
