TNI Commander Together With National Police Chief Visits Wisma Athletes, Appreciates Health Workers

JAKARTA - TNI Commander Marshal TNI Hadi Tjahjanto met with health workers at the COVID-19 Emergency Hospital (RSDC) Wisma Atlet Kemayoran, Jakarta. The TNI Commander gave encouragement and support to health workers during the 76th Anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia.

"They have helped each other, helping each other to overcome the community of our brothers and sisters who were exposed to COVID-19 at the Corona Kemayoran Emergency Hospital, including those in Nagrak, Pasar Rumput, and TNI and Polri hospitals," said the TNI Commander, quoted by Antara. , Tuesday, August 17th.

At that moment, the TNI Commander together with the National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, BNPB Head Lt. Gen. Ganip Warsito, and Jaya Regional Commander Maj. Gen. Mulyo Aji conveyed their pride to the health workers for their dedication to caring for COVID-19 patients during the pandemic.

The health workers are willing to spend their time and help with the vaccination program from villages to the coast, said the Commander.

"They distributed medicine packages, social assistance packages, rice and basic necessities, including setting up field kitchens," said the Commander in Chief, praising the work of the soldiers and volunteers at the Kemayoran Athlete Hospital.

The TNI Commander said that overcoming the pandemic requires the cooperation of all institutions and community groups.

"With the spirit of cooperation between the TNI, Polri, ministries, institutions, the Ministry of Health, BNPB, and local governments, community organizations from various components of the nation, currently confirmed cases are starting to decline," he said.

The peak of positive confirmed cases was recorded on July 15, 2021 as many as 56,757, but on Monday, August 16, the number of positive cases began to fall to 17,384, said the Commander.

"Meanwhile, the number of confirmed cases in DKI Jakarta on July 12, 2021 was 14,622 and on August 16, 2021 it fell to 513. For the Wisma Atlet Hospital, the peak was on July 30 with 7,167 patients and 'BOR' (hospital bed occupancy rate, ed.) reached 97 percent. Currently, the RSDC is treating 1,503 and its 'BOR' is recorded at 19.04 percent, "explained the Commander in Chief.

Despite the decrease in "BOR" to 31.8 percent, the positive case rate (positivity rate) is still 15.95 percent. "This figure must be watched out for by all parties," said the Commander in Chief.

"From everything we see, this is part of the efforts and hard work of health and non-health workers, TNI and Polri soldiers, BNPB, regional governments, and community organizations. It is a form of service to the country and all Indonesian people during the COVID-19 pandemic, "said the Commander to the health workers.

Marshal Hadi conveyed that one of the efforts that helped reduce positive cases was massive tracking by the TNI and Polri as well as volunteers.

Not only that, members of the TNI and Polri also helped treat patients in centralized isolation places and PPKM posts.
