JAKARTA - Chairperson of the PDI-P DPP Megawati Soekarnoputri has asked her party cadres not to remain silent, to be complacent in their comfort zone. Because when you live comfortably, you will be complacent with the blessings that exist.

Moreover, PDIP is the party that won the election 2 times in a row. According to Mega, there is no guarantee that PDIP will come back as the winner.

"We must continue to fight, build. Thank God we won the election twice. From the party that used to be called the people's party, the flip-flops party, the small party, now try to imagine, now it can be like this and survive," Megawati said in the video aired during the flag ceremony to commemorate the 76th Independence Day of the Republic of Indonesia, reported by Antara, Tuesday, August 17.

"But you can't, there is no guarantee that something will always be there. There is only the One Above (Allah SWT, ed). So we have to keep trying, don't just want to enjoy that comfort zone life,"

"I'm not saying I'm going to be a puritan, just living modestly, no. But you live a good life. It means that it's good to be able to fulfill your obligations in educating your children, there are no difficulties, you can call it prosperous, guaranteed health. Well, this is what we really have to do. wake up together. You can't do it alone, and you can't lose the struggle," said the Fifth President of the Republic of Indonesia.

PDIP cadres participated in a hybrid flag ceremony to commemorate the 76th Independence Day of the Republic of Indonesia which was held by the PDIP DPP, the Party School complex, Jalan Lenteng Agung, South Jakarta.

Thousands of PDIP cadres took part virtually, either through the Zoom application or live broadcasts on Youtube.

Apart from the comfort zone, Megawati also mentioned continuity in the party's movement. The current party is a continuation of the struggle of the Indonesian Democratic Party (PDI) in the New Order era which had to feel tremendous pressure from the regime.

"At that time, I as a leader, as general chairman, had to build an organization internally. However, at that time I also had to deal with external power," said Megawati.

Megawati recalled how at that time, the party cadres had a fire of passion that never went out. Finally, PDIP seems to have entered the stage of 'picking the fruits' of this hard struggle.

However, Megawati is aware that many current cadres do not necessarily understand this history. So he felt it was important to keep reminding him that without that strong fighting spirit and independence, PDIP would not be able to achieve what it is today.

In line with Mega, the Secretary General of the DPP PDIP Hasto Kristiyanto added that the general chairman's message was very contextual in the midst of the current pandemic conditions. That the duty of PDIP members and cadres is to continue to inflame the fighting spirit in the midst of people's lives.

So to all cadres in the party structure, who sit in the DPR/DPRD, as well as regional heads, to maintain the fighting spirit and morals, be disciplined in conducting consolidation, and be present as party representatives who have a populist spirit.

"Never forget our identity as part of the Little Wong. Indonesia must continue to grow and develop. So let's continue to inflame the fighting spirit for all the nation's children so that they have a fighting spirit to give the best service to their nation," said Hasto.
