Bringing Drugs, 2 Riders Are Arrested At The PPKM Blocking Post For The Medan-Tebing Tinggi Road

MEDAN - Deli Serdang Police arrested 2 motorcycle riders and a car caught carrying drugs. Both were arrested when approaching the Level III Community Activity Restrictions (PPKM) blocking post on the Medan-Tebing Tinggi Cross Road.

Head of the Deli Serdang Police Narcotics Unit, Commissioner Ginanjar Fitriyadi, said that the first suspect to be arrested was KA (50).

Ginanjar explained, initially, KA passed by driving a white Daihatsu Xenia car with the license plate number BK 1296 HR. "At that time, officers stopped and asked the driver to show his identity and vehicle documents", said Ginanjar, Monday, August 16.

Then, the driver of the car behaved suspiciously so officers ordered the driver to get off. With the approval of the driver, the officer checked and searched the car.

"When searched, it was found 1 blue plastic containing 1 package of suspected methamphetamine packaged in plastic clips. It was estimated to have a gross weight of 0.13 grams, then 1 bong on the dashboard of the right middle door of the car", said Ginanjar.

When interrogated, the perpetrator admitted that the item belonged to him which was purchased from a person with the initial G.

"We will explore this and make developments, to account for his actions", he said.

Then, the police also arrested BA (19) who was carrying and storing crystal methamphetamine while blocking the PPKM on the Sumatra Cross Road, Ujung Serdang Village, Tanjung Morawa District, Deli Serdang Regency.

At that time, BA crossed the PPKM blocking post using a motorcycle. Then BA is stopped and asked to show identity and vehicle documents.

“At that time the motorcyclist acted suspiciously and threw away something in the form of a package. So the officers immediately ordered the driver to take the package back", Ginanjar continued.

From BA's hands, the police found 1 package of suspected methamphetamine in plastic clips with an estimated value of 5.05 grams. At that time, BA could not deny and admit that the evidence was his.

"Officers secured the suspected drugs with 1 silver Xiaomi brand cellphone belonging to the suspect", he explained.

To the officers, BA explained that the methamphetamine was obtained or purchased from a man in Tanjung Morawa for IDR 1 million.

"Furthermore, we will explore and develop this case", he said.

For their actions, the perpetrators were threatened with Article 114 paragraph (1) Subs 112 paragraph (1) of Law no. 35 of 2009 concerning Narcotics.

"Threatened with a minimum sentence of 5 years in prison and a maximum of 20 years", said Ginanjar.
