Tomorrow, The Eight Defendants In Asabri's Alleged Corruption Will Be Tried

JAKARTA - Eight defendants in the alleged corruption case in the management of finance and investment funds at PT Asabri (Persero) on Monday, August 16, 2021, will be tried at Central Jakarta Corruption Court, Monday, August 16.

"While the Asabri case has been transferred, there are 8 files (8 defendants), the first trial will be held on Monday, August 16, 2021", said Central Jakarta District Court Public Relations Officer, Bambang Nurcahyono in Jakarta, reported by Antara, Sunday, August 15.

The composition of the panel of judges in the case was IG Eko Purwanto as chairman of the panel of judges with members of the panel namely Saefudin Zuhri and Rosmina (career judges) and Ali Muhtarom and Mulyono Dwi Purwanto (ad hoc corruption judges).

The eight defendants were President Director of PT Asabri for the period 2011 - March 2016 Major General Retired. Adam Rachmat Damiri, President Director of PT Asabri for the period March 2016 - July 2020 Lt. Gen. Retired. Sonny Widjaja, Finance Director of PT Asabri for the period October 2008 - June 2014 Bachtiar Effendi, Director of PT Asabri for the period 2013 — 2014 and 2015 — 2019, Hari Setiono.

President Director of PT Prima Network Lukman Purnomosidi, Director of PT Jakarta Issuer Investor Relations Jimmy Sutopo, President Director of PT Hanson International Tbk. Benny Tjokrosaputro and Commissioner of PT Trada Alam Minera Heru Hidayat. Benny and Heru are known to be defendants in a corruption case at PT Asuransi Jiwasraya.

The actions of the eight people are suspected of causing state finances of IDR 22.78 trillion in financial management and investment funds at PT Asabri (Persero) for the period 2012 - 2019.

They were charged with the subsidiary indictment, namely Article 2 paragraph (1) or Article 3 in conjunction with Article 18 of Law no. 31 of 1999 as amended by Law no. 20 of 2021 concerning the Eradication of Corruption Crimes Jo. Article 55 paragraph (1) of the 1st Criminal Code.

Specifically for the suspect's Jimmy Sutopo, Benny Tjokcrosaputro, and Heru Hidayat were also charged with money laundering (TTPU).

Initially, investigators from the Deputy Attorney General for Special Crimes of the Indonesian Attorney General's Office delegated nine suspects to the Public Prosecutor's Office for the South Jakarta District Attorney. However, on July 31, 2021, the Head of Investment Division of PT Asabri July 2012 — January 2017Ilham Wardhana Siregar passed away.
