COVID-19 Update As Of August 14: 28,598 Positive Cases, 1,270 Dead Cases

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) released data on the progress of handling COVID-19. Based on the results of the examination of 222,582 specimens as of August 14, 28,598 confirmed positive cases were found.

"The total accumulation of positive cases since COVID-19 was discovered in Indonesia has reached 3,833,541 people," quoted from Ministry of Health data, Saturday, August 14.

Meanwhile, the recovered cases also increased quite a lot with 31,880 people. Thus, the cumulative total recovered cases reached 3,321,598 people.

On the other hand, the number of deaths due to COVID-19 has increased by 1,270 people. With this addition, the cumulative total of deaths to 116,366 people.

Still referring to the data from the Ministry of Health, for the province with the highest number of additional positive cases, namely, Central Java. A total of 4,560 people have tested positive for COVID-19.

Then, the second province with the most positive cases of COVID-19 was East Java with 3,232 cases. Furthermore, West Java with 2,164 positive cases, Bali with 1,795 cases, Yogyakarta with 1,788, and DKI Jakarta with 1,363 cases of COVID-19.

Meanwhile, for recovered cases, based on data, most were found in Central Java Province with 5,237 cases.

In the second position, East Java Province with 4,491 recovered cases. Then, West Java Province with 2,486 cases, and Bali with 1,642 cases recovered.

So far, there are no provinces throughout Indonesia that have reported additional cases of under 10 and no positive cases.

The number of specimens that have been examined reached 29,188,690. In detail, as many as 21,671,582 specimens were examined using real-time polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR), 219,616 specimens using the rapid molecular test (TCM), and 7,297,492 specimens by antigen examination.

"The number of positive results per day with the number of specimens examined (positivity rate) is 22.62 percent," he wrote.

The number of people suspected of contracting COVID-19 or who are currently categorized as suspected cases was recorded at 302,433 people. Currently, 510 districts/cities from 34 provinces have COVID-19 cases.
