IPO Survey On Pandemic Handling Satisfaction Rate: President 52 Percent, Vice President 32 Percent

JAKARTA - The Indonesian Political Opinion Institute (IPO) has released a survey related to the handling of the pandemic and the impact of the 2024 political constellation.

Based on the survey results, as many as 52 percent of respondents said they were satisfied with the performance of President Joko Widodo in handling the COVID-19 pandemic. Meanwhile, 41 percent of respondents were dissatisfied with Jokowi's performance.

"Compared to the April survey, the President still gets a satisfaction level of 56, which means there is a fairly sharp decline," said IPO Executive Director Dedi Kurnia Syah in a virtual discussion of the MNC Trijaya Polemic, Saturday, August 14.

Factors of dissatisfaction with President Jokowi's performance in handling the COVID-19 pandemic include the social sector (53 percent), the economic sector (42 percent), and the political and legal fields (54 percent).

Meanwhile, continued Dedi, as many as 58 percent of respondents were dissatisfied with Vice President Ma'ruf Amin's performance in handling the COVID-19 pandemic. This means that, said Dedi, only 32 percent of respondents said they were satisfied with the vice president's performance.

Meanwhile, the factors of dissatisfaction with the Vice President's performance in handling the COVID-19 pandemic include the social sector (62 percent), the economic sector (59 percent), and the political and legal fields (58 percent).

"The vice president is also consistent in public opinion because we are halfway through the period, but the satisfaction rate with the vice president is still 32 percent," he explained.

For information, the IPO survey was carried out on August 2-10, 2021 by determining the number of villages to be a sample selected at random using random kish grid paper and using the multistage random sampling (MRS) technique of 1,200 respondents.

This method has a sampling error of 2.50 percent with a data accuracy of 97 percent.
