Plate B Vehicles Start Crowding Tourist Routes In Bandung

JAKARTA - Motorized vehicles with B plates began to crowd the tourist route in the city of Bandung, West Java, on the weekend ahead of the August 17, 2021 holiday.

Kanitlantas Coblong Police, Bandung City Police, Second Inspector Sonny Rinaldi said that currently, the police are enforcing the odd-even partition. Plate B vehicles are heavily insulated.

"Today, quite a lot of vehicles are directed to the Dipatiukur area, the average is plate B (Jakarta)," said Sonny in Bandung, Saturday, August 14.

According to him, the vehicle was then diverted to Dipatiukur street because the odd-even partition was enforced on Ir H Djuanda street (Dago).

Sonny said that the average plate B vehicle headed north to get to the culinary tourism area in the Punclut or Lembang area.

The West Java Regional Police (Polda) is currently holding isolation to minimize public mobility ahead of the holiday to commemorate the 76th Anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Indonesia on August 17, 2021.

The Head of West Java Regional Police Headquarters, Police Grand Commissioner Erdi A Chaniago said the blockage would still be carried out in accordance with the status or level of an area that was determined related to restrictions on the application of community activities (PPKM). One of them in the city of Bandung is still level 4.

"We don't want to go back to the surge of COVID-19 sufferers in the city of Bandung, thank God it's now down and must be maintained," said Erdi.

According to him, the blockade will only be held at some points and not in all cities. Later vehicles that will enter an area will be checked for requirements, and if they do not match, they will be returned to their original direction.

"So we will see how much public interest will enter, if we see a lot of mobility, we will do it as usual (blockage)," said Erdi.
