Prepare Your Umbrella, BMKG Predicts Rain In Some Areas Of Indonesia, Also Jakarta

JAKARTA - The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) predicts the weather will be heavy rain which can be accompanied by lightning/lightning and strong winds hit a number of areas in Indonesia. Meanwhile, Jakarta will also experience the same thing, but it is predicted that the rain will only occur in the afternoon and into the evening.

From Antara's observations on the BMKG's official website in Jakarta, Saturday, the weather has the potential to occur in Aceh, North Sumatra, West Sumatra, Riau Islands, Bengkulu, Jambi, South Sumatra, Bangka Belitung Islands.

Similar weather is also predicted for Lampung, Banten, West Java, Central Java, West Kalimantan, Central Kalimantan, North Kalimantan, East Kalimantan, South Kalimantan, North Sulawesi, Gorontalo, West Sulawesi, North Maluku and Papua.

Meanwhile, areas that have the potential for rain that can be accompanied by lightning and strong winds are Riau, DKI Jakarta, and West Papua. Areas that have the potential for strong winds are East Java, West Nusa Tenggara, East Nusa Tenggara, South Sulawesi, and Maluku

Floods have the potential to hit Aceh, North Sumatra, West Sumatra, Riau Islands, Bengkulu, South Sumatra, Bangka Belitung Islands, Banten, West Java, Central Java, West Kalimantan and Central Sulawesi. The BMKG also said there was a potential for forest fires in East Nusa Tenggara.

Rainy Afternoon in Jakarta

Meanwhile, the BMKG issued an early warning of potential rain that could be accompanied by lightning in two areas of DKI Jakarta on Saturday afternoon.

The two areas are South Jakarta and East Jakarta, which are predicted to receive light rain from noon, as is West Jakarta, as quoted from the official BMKG website in Jakarta, Saturday.

At the same time, in Central Jakarta and North Jakarta, cloudy weather is predicted.

Meanwhile, for the morning, evening, and early morning before Sunday (15/8/2021), all areas of DKI Jakarta are predicted to experience sunny cloudy weather.

Temperatures throughout Saturday ranged from 24 to 33 degrees Celsius with humidity levels of 55 to 85 percent.
