PPP Calls PPKM The Cause Of Declining Public Satisfaction With The Government

JAKARTA - Secretary of the PPP faction in the DPR, Achmad Baidowi, commented on the results of the Charta Politica survey which stated that the level of public satisfaction with the government's performance had decreased to 62.4 percent.

From the previous survey in May 2021, the level of confidence in the government was at 65.3 percent. The latest survey was released on Thursday, August 12 yesterday.

According to Awiek, as he is known, the cause of the decline in the level of public satisfaction with the government's performance is due to the long policy of implementing restrictions on community activities (PPKM). In fact, the terms vary from macro, emergency to level.

"Of course there are causes, such as the implementation of PPKM which is quite long," said Awiek, Friday, August 13.

This East Java electoral district legislator considered that, on the one hand, restrictions on mobility were important in order to prevent soaring cases of COVID-19. However, on the other hand, the economy is also sluggish due to the limited mobility of the people.

"Indeed, the situation is in a dilemma. We want to relax the impact of the spread of COVID-19 being out of control. It is too tight, the economy is sluggish," said Awiek.

For that, said Awiek, the decrease in satisfaction due to the long PPKM should be the government's attention even though the current condition is very dilemmatic.

"This should be a concern of the government," said the chairman of the PPP DPP.
