Inactive Cimahi Mayor Ajay Is Also Demanded To Pay Replacement Money Of IDR 7 Billion, If Property Is Not Confiscated

BANDUNG - The inactive Mayor of Cimahi Ajay M Priyatna was also demanded by the prosecutor at the KPK to pay a replacement money of IDR 7 billion.

KPK Public Prosecutor Budi Nugraha said that the replacement money of IDR 7 billion was the result of giving bribes to Ajay which was carried out in stages.

"The facts at the trial are in accordance with the evidence, according to the evidence of the elements of the indictment, the total amount of money obtained is more than Rp. 7 billion," said the KPK Public Prosecutor, at the Bandung District Court, West Java, quoted by Antara, Thursday, August 12.

According to the KPK prosecutor in his claim, Ajay was asked to pay the replacement money within one month. If this is not possible, the public prosecutor has the right to confiscate Ajay's property to be auctioned until it matches the value of the replacement money.

"If you don't have sufficient assets, you will be sentenced to no more than the maximum threat of the principal sentence," said the prosecutor.

Previously, the KPK prosecutor demanded the panel of judges to sentence the inactive Cimahi Mayor Ajay to a sentence of seven years in prison and a fine of Rp. 300 million, a subsidiary of six months in prison.

In addition, Ajay is also required not to be able to run for office, such as regional heads for five years after serving his sentence.

Ajay was judged by the KPK prosecutor to be legally and convincingly proven to have accepted bribes in accordance with Article 12 letter a of the Republic of Indonesia Law Number 31 of 1999 concerning corruption in conjunction with Article 64 paragraph (1) of the Criminal Code and Article 12 B of the Republic of Indonesia Law Number 31 of 1999. 1999 concerning Corruption in conjunction with Article 65 paragraph (1) of the Criminal Code.
