JAKARTA - The Indonesian government is currently boosting the number of recipients of COVID-19 vaccinations to accelerate the realization of communal immunity or herd immunity.

The target, according to the Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment, Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan, is that at least 50 million people have received a complete COVID-19 vaccination as of August 2021.

In that case, collaborative efforts between the government and the entire community are needed, including the private sector in terms of distributing COVID-19 vaccines.

One of the collaborations carried out by the government is to hold vaccinations at the airport.

The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) RI, Port Health Office-Ministry of Health (KKP-Kemenkes) Soekarno-Hatta, PT Angkasa Pura II (AP II) launched the "Vaccination at Airport" service at Terminal 2 and Terminal 3, Soekarno-Hatta International Airport , Banten, the first period last July.

At least 14,000 vaccine recipients with an age range above 18 years have been targeted by the program, which will be held from July 12 to 25, 2021.

The Soekarno-Hatta International Airport area was chosen considering the airport is one of the departure and arrival gates with quite high traffic.

The government cooperates with Traveloka by utilizing its technology that makes it easier for the public to register online by prioritizing a structured vaccination schedule to avoid accumulation.

Vaccination service at the airport for the second period

Continuing the shared commitment to achieve herd immunity, the "Vaccination at the Airport" service initiated by the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Indonesia (Kemenkes RI), the Port Health Office (KKP), PT Angkasa Pura II (AP II), and Traveloka officially re-operated for dose injections. second from Monday, August 9 to August 22, 2021.

The vaccination service is located at Terminal 2 and Terminal 3, Soekarno-Hatta International Airport, Cengkareng, Banten and starts at 08:00-17:00 WIB.

Targeting 1,000 people per day, this service can be accessed free of charge by the general public, ranging from 18 years and over to the elderly, who have previously received the first dose of vaccine injection.

Vaccination at the airport for the second dose was also supported by the Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy of the Republic of Indonesia, Sandiaga Uno, who was also present to review the vaccination location on the first day.

On the occasion, Sandiaga expressed his appreciation for the collaboration between the government and the private sector in the success of the vaccination program to achieve communal immunity.

"I appreciate the collaboration between Traveloka, the Indonesian Ministry of Health and PT Angkasa Pura II (Persero) for their contribution to the success of the national vaccination program.
