32 Names Of Candidates For Ambassador Decided By Commission I Of The DPR

JAKARTA - Commission I DPR RI has decided on 32 names of candidates for Ambassador Extraordinary Plenipotentiary (LBBP) for friendly countries. This decision was made after they had followed a fit and proper test for three days from Tuesday 16 June to Thursday 18 June.

Member of Commission I DPR RI PKB faction Abdul Kadir Karding said the 32 names were the result of an internal meeting in his commission. However, he could not specify what the results of the internal meeting were because they were confidential.

However, everything related to the results of the decisions will be submitted to the DPR RI Leadership for a decision making agenda in the Plenary Session.

"For decision-making at DPR Commission I, a decision has been made, taken at an internal commission meeting this afternoon," Karding said in Jakarta, Thursday, June 18.

Based on the overall assessment, Karding said, dozens of LBBP candidates had very good quality and capacitance. Because, some of them have career experience at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Kemenlu).

"For example, Muhammad Lutfi, who was the Head of BKPM and the Indonesian Ambassador to Japan. Then there is Suryopratomo who has a strong understanding of the economy and bilateral relations between the two countries," Karding said.

In addition, these names are people who meet the criteria that President Joko Widodo hopes to become Indonesia's representatives. This is because LBBP candidates must have the ability to carry out many tasks, such as political, social and cultural diplomacy, but prioritize economic diplomacy.

"Economic diplomacy is 80 percent so there are benefits for Indonesia," said Karding.

For your information, Commission I will hold a due diligence on 32 LBBP Ambassador candidates for three days starting from Tuesday, June 16 to Thursday, June 18.
