KALSEL - The Office of the Ministry of Religion (Kemenag) of Balangan Regency, South Kalimantan (Kalsel) appealed to the public to be aware of the circulation of fake marriage books by irresponsible persons.

"The public must be vigilant because recently there have been several cases of forgery of marriage certificates carried out by unscrupulous persons, the aim is to profit from the bride and groom," said Head of the Islamic Community Guidance Section of the Bulungan Ministry of Religion, Wahid Noor Fajeri in Paringin, Antara, Monday, August 9.

The Ministry of Religion has also been directly involved in educating the public that there are 4 physical characteristics of a marriage book to determine whether it is fake or otherwise. First, there is a hologram in the shape of a circle with an image of an eagle on the front page of the marriage book.

Second, there is a glossy transparent sheet that can be opened to cover the identity data of the prospective bride and groom (Catin) which will be opened and pasted immediately for safety.

"The transparent sheet also has a hologram," explained Wahid.

Third, there is the serial number of the company in the form of a hole through each sheet. If you look at it, you can see clearly from the cover sheet to the back sheet. The number is serialized nationally, and there are special codes including the code for the Province of South Kalimantan.

The last feature, said Wahid, is that on every page you can find a picture of an eagle in it that can be seen physically. And what is certain is related to the color of the cover of the marriage book, for the husband it is red, while the wife's marriage book is green.

He explained that writing the number in the marriage book was not arbitrary and must be in accordance with the marriage certificate at the Office of Religious Affairs (KUA) where Catin married.

"Actually, the marriage book that Catin holds is called a marriage certificate quote, because the original book is actually in the KUA. The copy of the marriage book that Catin has is in accordance with the number and data with the one with the marriage book at the KUA, so it is not easy for people to fake it if there is a comparison. data," he said.

On the first sheet there is an appeal for advice from the incumbent Minister of Religion (Menag) of the Republic of Indonesia (RI), so that if the minister of religion changes, the books will also be replaced.

"The previous book is no longer used and will be destroyed, so if the date of the marriage registration does not match the minister who was serving at that time, we can be sure it is a fake marriage book," he said.

Wahid further said that the marriage book now has a barcode whose data is integrated with data on the Marriage Management Information System (Simkah).

"In the future, there will be marriage cards such as ID cards that can be carried everywhere and have a barcode that can be scanned to find out the truth of the data. For now in Balangan it is not possible because the tools are not available, but this is one of the flagship programs for revitalizing KUA, God willing It will also reach all corners of the country, including our districts," he said.
