Repeatedly Chinese Foreign Workers Enter Indonesia During PPKM, PKS: What's Up With Jokowi?

JAKARTA - The arrival of 34 foreign workers (TKA) from China to Indonesia when PPKM level 4 was in effect was highlighted cynically by parliamentarians.

The Chinese foreign workers escaped to the country because they held a Limited Stay Permit (ITAS) and entered via Soekarno-Hatta International Airport on Saturday, August 7, yesterday.

In response, member of the DPR PKS faction, Mardani Ali Sera, admitted that he was surprised by the government's mindset. Because they are still in an increasingly emergency pandemic situation, these Chinese migrant workers have repeatedly come to Indonesia.

"This has happened again and again. What's wrong with the government?" said Mardani, Monday, August 9.

The chairman of the PKS DPP reminded that the government of Joko Widodo (Jokowi) must be consistent in enforcing the PPKM Level 4 rules which will end today. Moreover, this rule is predicted to be extended.

Moreover, said Mardani, it is imperative if the regulation is strictly enforced on foreign nationals. Not only the residents themselves.

"Movements from abroad have the potential to damage the results of PPKM," said Mardani.

The member of Commission II of the DPR considered that the entry permit for Chinese foreign workers was a decision that injures the sense of justice. Although the reason that foreign workers are allowed to enter is because they have a limited stay permit (ITAS), he said, this cannot be justified.

"If they have ITAS, Indonesian citizens are stronger to have ID cards, but they are still asked to stay at home. This is a policy that injures public justice," said Mardani.
