Latest News On The Sabang Pier Corruption Case: Investigation Completed, KPK Hands Over The Files Of BUMN Nindya Karya

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) is trying to investigate the alleged corruption case of the Unloading Pier construction project in the 2006-2011 fiscal year, which ensnared the state-owned company PT Nindya Karya as a corporate suspect.

The latest development, the KPK has transferred this case file from the investigator to the public prosecutor (JPU).

"Regarding the alleged corruption case carried out by the PT NK (Nindya Karya) corporation, it is in the process of delegating it to the prosecutor. Meanwhile, the legal subjects of the suspect from the private sector and state administrators have been inkracht," said KPK Chairman Firli Bahuri to reporters quoted on Saturday, August 6.

Furthermore, this case is just waiting for the trial schedule at the trial which will be further conveyed to the public.

Firli said that his party was committed to completing the investigation into the unfinished corruption case. However, in its implementation, the KPK will continue to follow the applicable laws and regulations.

"KPK really understands the wishes and expectations of the community because we continue to work," he said.

In the alleged corruption case of the Unloading Pier construction project in the Free Trade Area and Free Port of Sabang for the 2006-2011 fiscal year, the KPK named two corporate suspects, namely PT Nindya Karya and PT Tuah Sejati.

This determination was carried out since 2018 and started with the development of the investigation of the previous suspects, namely the Head of PT Nindya Karya Branches of North Sumatra and Nangroe Aceh Darussalam Heru Sulaksono, PPK of the Sabang Free Development Working Unit Ramadhany Ismy, Head of the Sabang Area Concession Agency Ruslan Abdul Gani, and the Head of the Sabang Area Concession Agency. , Teuku Syaiful Ahmad.

These two companies are suspected of committing irregularities in project work. The project value in this case is around Rp. 793 billion with a state loss of around Rp. 313 billion.
